Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

Educational & Technical Qualifications

  • Fireman:
    • Matriculation (10th Class) pass or equivalent.
    • Knowledge of firefighting equipment maintenance, hose fittings, first-aid firefighting, and trailer fire pump operations.
  • Leading Fireman:
    • Matriculation (10th Class) pass.
    • Proficiency in firefighting tools, equipment management, controlling “B” crane operations, and handling shift responsibilities.
  • Fire Engine Driver:
    • Matriculation pass.
    • Valid Heavy Driving Licence with minimum 3 years of heavy vehicle driving experience. Fireman course certification preferred.
  • Civilian Motor Driver (OG):
    • Matriculation pass.
    • Valid driving licence for both Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) and Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) with at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Tradesman Mate / Cleaner / MTS (Chowkidar):
    • Matriculation (10th Class) pass.
    • Proficiency in the respective trade or manual labor work.
  • Civilian Catering Instructor (CCI):
    • Matriculation pass.
    • Diploma or Certificate in Catering (1 year cooking instructor experience preferred).
  • Cook:
    • Matriculation pass with proficiency in traditional Indian cooking.

Age Limit & Category Relaxations

  • Civilian Motor Driver (OG): 18 to 27 years.
  • All Other Posts: 18 to 25 years.

Relaxations:

  • SC / ST: Up to 5 years
  • OBC: Up to 3 years
  • PwD (UR / OBC / SC / ST): 10 to 15 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Deduct military service length + 3 years from actual age.

Physical Standards & Endurance Tests

Physical qualification is mandatory for Fireman, Leading Fireman, Fire Engine Driver, and Tradesman Mate before proceeding to the written test.

Mandatory Physical Measurement (Fire Cadre)

  • Height: 165 cm minimum (2.5 cm concession for Scheduled Tribes).
  • Chest: 81.5 cm (Unexpanded) to 85.0 cm (Expanded).
  • Weight: 50 kg minimum.

Physical Endurance Tests

Tradesman Mate (Labour):

  1. 1.5 km Run: Complete in 6 minutes.
  2. Weight Carrying: Carry a 50 kg load over 200 metres within 100 seconds.

Fireman, Leading Fireman & Fire Engine Driver:

  1. Human Weight Carrying: Carry a person weighing 65.5 kg over a distance of 183 metres within 96 seconds.
  2. Long Jump: Clear a 2.7-metre wide ditch (landing cleanly on both feet).
  3. Climbing: Climb a 3-metre vertical rope using hands and feet.

Written Examination Pattern & Marking Scheme
